Programme Note
Danesborough Chorus celebrates the Christmas season with a selection of carols old and new in the warm and welcoming ambience of Hockliffe Street Baptist Church.
The flowing melodic line of Lauridsen's setting of James Agee's poem Sure on this Shining Night creates a sense of mystery and wonder. Will Todd's My Lord Has Come tells the story of Christ's birth, encompassing moments of dramatic intensity and hushed awe. Together with Cecilia McDowall's A Heavenly Song, based on a medieval text, and other traditional carols, the programme charts the story of the Nativity.
Join us for a celebration of Christmas, including an interval glass of wine and mince pie.
