Programme Note
To close our current winter concert series at Holy Sepulchre Holborn, and conclude our first full season as the resident concert society at the National Musicians' Church, Music-at-Hill is pleased to embark on a new collaboration with London Contemporary Soloists (LCS), an orchestral ensemble founded by the dynamic young Turkish composer Emre Şener.
On the evening of Palm Sunday, LCS are bringing to Holy Sepulchre an exciting instrumental programme consisting of four concertos from different musical eras: the Baroque period is represented by Bach's Double Concerto for Violin & Oboe; the Classical period has Mozart's Piano Concerto No 11; the twentieth century is represented by Andrzej Panufnik's Violin Concerto; and the contemporary era by Emre Şener's own Clarinet Concerto.
This concert is presented in collaboration with Yunus Emre Institute (the London-based Turkish Cultural Forum), whose practical support we gratefully acknowledge.
You may like to combine your attendance at this musical feast with some West End shopping or dining, or a museum/gallery visit during the afternoon, or even a downtown Palm Sunday church service earlier in the day...
Admission will be by programme at the door, with payment by cash or cheque only (no cards or contactless). Advance bookings may also be made online via Eventbrite.
Light refreshments will be served in the interval, and we look forward to your joining us!
