Voxcetera

Programme Note

Don’t miss Voxcetera’s third visit to the extraordinary “Cathedral of the Marshes” following the choir’s popular performances in 2024 and 2025.

Enjoy highlights from Dvořák’s Stabat Mater, his moving setting of a medieval prayer to the grieving mother of Christ, which made the Czech composer’s name internationally; and the dazzling, inventive and ethereally beautiful Vigil Mass for choir, cello and organ by William Petter, who died 10 years ago aged just 34.

Other treats include haunting arrangements of traditional British and French folk songs; short works by Britten and Fauré; the ecstatic “I Am A Cloud” from Majel Connery’s song cycle The Rivers Are Our Brothers; and the glorious, shimmering “Sunday” from Sondheim’s musical Sunday in the Park with George.
