Programme Note

Our concert of sacred music by 19th century German composers includes the sublime setting of the Mass for Double Choir by Josef Rheinberger. Although less well known than the other composers we shall be singing, Rheinberger’s music is sumptuously expressive.

The concert also includes shorter motets by Mendelssohn and Bruckner, and the wonderful How lovely are thy dwellings from Brahms’ German Requiem.

Proceeds from the concert will support the work of Holy Trinity Church, Bradford on Avon.
