Add to my Calendar 07-03-2018 13:00 07-03-2018 15:00 36 A Feast of Song CATHERINE TORRIANI – SOPRANO   The Swiss-Canadian soprano Catherine Torriani is a graduate of Bern’s University of the Arts and the Swiss Opera Studio in Bienne. She was awarded the first prize in the Migros Cultural Awards and also won the Ernst-Goehner prize in 2004 and 2005. On graduation she performed Les Aventures du Roi Pausole in Fribourg and L’Orfeo across Bienne, Solothurn, Bern and Zurich She then played the roles of Lucy in Menotti’s The Telephone, of Barbarina in The Marriage of Figaro, of Hannchen in The Cousin from Nowhere, of Eva in Cimarosa’s La morte di Abele and of Eileen in Wonderful Town. She has performed with many leading orchestras including Rome’s Academia de Santa Caecilia, the Zurich Symphony Orchestra, The Geneva Chamber Orchestra, The Bienne Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Monte Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra. She has worked for celebrated conductors such as Thomas Rösner, Gabor Takacs-Nagy and Wayne Marshall.   ERIC FÖRSTER – BASS-BARITONE    Eric Foerster studied at the Karlsruhe State University of Music, then at the Bern Academy of Arts and then at the Swiss Opera Studio in Bienne. As a student he was invited to perform as a soloist at the Pfalzbau Ludwigshafen, at the Dresden Sächsischen Staatsoper, at the Baden-Baden Festspielhaus and at the Cologne Philharmonic. For the last 12 years he has performed as the resident bass-baritone at the Biel Solothurn Opera. In parallel to his operatic roles, Eric is an accomplished Oratorio and Lied performer and continues to perform throughout Europe. Since 2011 he has been the President of the Swiss Society of Musical Education for the Bienne & Jura area of Switzerland, and since 2016 he has taught at the KM College of Music and Technology in Chennai, India.   Holy Trinity Church, Coventry DD/MM/YYYY

CATHERINE TORRIANI – SOPRANO

 

The Swiss-Canadian soprano Catherine Torriani is a graduate of Bern’s University of the Arts and the Swiss Opera Studio in Bienne.
