Ensemble Boquhan

Part of the Ensemble Boquhan concerts 2017 Series

Add to my Calendar 25-06-2017 15:00 25-06-2017 17:00 36 A Musical Offering Ensemble Boquhan was formed in 2016 in Boquhan, Scotland by the flautist Fiona Mancey-Jones, violinist and composer Valerie Pearson and pianist and composer Panos Demopoulos, with a view to perform and record music old and new in themed and free repertoire concerts. From transcribing medieval chansons to premiering music by living composers especially composed for the ensemble, the trio is seeking to present concerts of the highest artistic integrity whilst crossing boundaries in an academically viable fashion. They are committed to performances that engage with audiences and they are constantly developing ways to present work in ways that communicate ideas clearly. In addition to their enviable performance and academic pedigree covering most genres of concert music between them the members of the trio hold two doctorates in composition, and a wide experience in most educational settings. The members have also been director, teachers and key artistic partners of music festivals, stage productions and curated events that have taken music into new environments and roles. The three have been performing together since 2004 in duets and as part of larger groups and their shared versatility and strong commitment to serve the same, highly creative musical aims and values have naturally brought them together to form Ensemble Boquhan. They are versatile and curious and want to share their music with you.  Holy Trinity Church, Hereford DD/MM/YYYY
