Programme Note
Laura Lootens has been selected by Classic FM as one of their 30 'Rising Stars of 2024'. Having played the guitar since the age of eight, she was awarded a scholarship from the German Music Competition for all instruments. Her concert career took off following her performance at the Gasteig, Munich, in the internationally acclaimed ‘Winners and Masters’ series. She went on to win the coveted Andres Segovia International Classical Guitar Competition in Spain in 2022, scoring a further success when the renowned German Music Competition selected her for a scholarship; on the same occasion, she was awarded the Special Prize of the German Musikleben Foundation.
