Programme Note
Pinsuti, the Skipton and Ilkley Chamber Choir, are delighted to be returning to Holy Trinity Church in Skipton. In this season of remembrance, our afternoon concert brings together music from the 16th century through to the present day that embodies humanity's search to find peace and meaning in the face of the enormity of death and loss. The concert includes 16th century works by Tomkins and Purcell, together with Parry's moving "Songs of Farewell" and "In Paradisum" from Fauré's "Requiem". A particular delight is the extraordinary "There is Sweet Music" by Elgar. More modern works include Whitacre's sublime "Sleep" and Lauridsen's magical "O nata lux".
There is something for everyone to enjoy, and we hope you will join us to celebrate the pleasure of singing incredible music together once more.
Holy Trinity is a large church, so there is plenty of space to allow distancing. The concert will be performed without an interval and will finish around 5pm.
