The programme opens with Thomas Metcalf's Photogenia, specially written for the ensemble, and Jean-Louis Agobet's Eclisses. The second half of the concert then treads more familiar ground with two pieces drawing on ancient sources. Epigrams, a piano trio by the American composer Elliot Carter, is modelled on the ancient Greek literary form.
