Instruments of Time and Truth

Programme Note

Oxford’s own historical performance ensemble, Instruments of Time and Truth, explore the kaleidoscopic ways in which English Baroque musicians responded to their own art, with favourites of the repertoire such as Purcell’s Ode Welcome to all the Pleasures alongside extraordinary lesser-known works including several written for performance in Oxford at the time, some of which may not have been heard for over 350 years.

The project will feature a consort group of young singers from Oxford’s universities joining professional concert soloists and instrumentalists for the performance.
