Programme Note

The athmospheric Egdon Heath by Holst will set the scene before we welcome local legend David Greed to perform Shostakovich's 1st Violin Concerto. We conclude by celebrating the 75th Birthday of John Adams by performing his epic orchestral piece Harmonielehre, which was inspired by a dream.

This programme was originally planned for April 2020 but due to the global pandemic we have had to wait 2 years to be able to perform it.

Pre-concert talk in the hall at 6.30 is free to all ticket holders
