Rachmaninoff’s 3rd Piano Concerto, used famously in the film “Shine”, will see soloist William Green tackle the momentous work. “The 3rd Piano Concerto is a sublime piece which combines real excitement with some of Rachmanoff’s most beautiful melodies,” said ASO Musical Director and conductor John Anderson. “It’s a highly emotional work that puts incredible demands on the soloist and brings out the best of the orchestra, and we are very much looking forward to performing it at the King’s Hall.” The programme will also feature Smetana’s “Sarka” and Dvorak’s 8th Symphony. The concert starts at 7.30pm on Sunday March 26th. Tickets are on sale now from the King’s Hall and Winter Garden box office, or from Eventbrite.
