Programme Note

Members of the orchestra of the Royal Opera House Orchestra, led by the orchestra’s leader, Sergei Levitin, perform a selection of string chamber music classics. The magical string sextet from Strauss’s late opera ‘Capriccio’ is followed by Mozart’s beautiful string quintet in G minor. Their concert concludes with Brahms’s ever-popular first string sextet, with its famous theme and variations slow movement.
