Programme Note

Following our tour to France in July 2016, Birmingham Festival Choral Society is pleased to present a concert of much loved French sacred music.

The Messe Cum Jubilo was composed by Jean Dattas (the late father of one of our sopranos) in 1951 while he was organist at Notre Dame in Paris. It was so popular on tour that the choir requested that this beautiful work be included in our November concert.
