Programme Note

Universally hailed as one of the world’s finest musicians, and often referred to as the greatest living string player in the world today, Grammy and multi-award-winner Maxim Vengerov performs an extra special concert.

In the first half he takes on the solo role in Bruch’s magnificent violin concerto, and in the second returns to conduct the musicians of the virtuosic Würth Philharmonic in Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No 6, the composer's final symphonic work.

Witness a violinist who transcends boundaries, and whose gleaming tone and heartfelt insight gives new meaning to everything he plays. As soloist and conductor, this is a chance to experience the full, magnificent range of Vengerov’s artistry.
