This year we will be singing The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace by Sir Karl Jenkins. This event is extremely popular and numbers are limited so early booking is highly recommended. Advance booking essential. The Armed Man was commissioned by the Royal Armouries for the millenium celebrations and dedicated to the victims of Kosovo. It was composed in 1999 and first performed in 2000. It is essentially an anti-war piece based on the Catholic Mass with other sources including the 15th century folk song “L’homme armé”. An all day workshop lead by our musical director David Ballard and accompanied by Philip Adams. Concludes with an informal concert performance at 4:00 pm open to all.
