Programme Note
Over 200 years after most of their music was written, four Viennese giants are still synonymous with some of the greatest classical music ever written: Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven and Schubert. Between them they defined musical styles and forms that would inspire (and intimidate) generations of composers who followed. Join pianist Daniel Tong, violinist Sara Trickey and cellist Robin Michael for an informal and enlightening day, including complete performances of six masterpieces for duo and trio, exploring these iconic composers and their music. What did they have in common? And perhaps more interestingly, how did each compose music in a unique way, with his own distinctive voice? Come and discover the inner workings of this timeless music!
Tea and coffee included on arrival, a break for lunch (not included), the day finishes at 4.30pm.
