Take a look behind the scenes of classical music in this intimate afternoon of song and opera with celebrated Scottish soprano Marie McLaughlin, star pianist James Baillieu, theatre and opera director Susannah Waters and eight specially selected young singers and pianists. Held in the exquisite Arts and Crafts music room at Marchmont House, the Samling Artist Programme Masterclass reveals what goes into making a truly great performance. You’ll also be able to meet the artists and leaders over tea and home-made cake in the beautiful public reception rooms at Marchmont House.
This unique afternoon comes at the end of an intensive residential week at Marchmont House for the six singers and two pianists who have been selected for this world-renowned programme, all of them on the brink of impressive careers. They join a global family of 395 Samling Artists, who can be seen in opera houses and concert halls across the world. Don’t miss your chance to say ‘I heard them first’.
