Programme Note
“The Quatuor Bozzini belongs to that select group of fearless string quartets” The Guardian
A concert of new music for chamber ensemble performed by the celebrated Quatuor Bozzini - an original voice in new, experimental and classical music.
Praised for its "extraordinary playing" (Alex Ross), the Canadian string quartet has nurtured a vastly diverse repertoire, commissioning close to two hundred pieces and premiering over three hundred works. A Quatuor Bozzini concert is an intensely shared experience, with meticulous and sensuous attention to detail.
This presentation of new chamber works by Guildhall composers is the culmination of a six-day residency by Quatuor Bozzini in which they will coach chamber music groups, present masterclasses and workshops, and provide an open laboratory of works-in-progress by members of Guildhall’s composition faculty.
