Programme Note

The Countess of Huntingdon's Chapel provides an ideal acoustic for for Musicke in the Ayre's Bath-based team performing their tribute to the extraordinary Barbara Strozzi born 400 years ago in Venice. The programme also includes works by her teacher Francesco Cavalli, the towering Claudio Monteverdi, and his colleague Alessandro Grandi.
