In 2003, we refounded this happy gathering as a flexible collective of musicians, drawing on some of the country's finest period instrument specialists to perform in bespoke combinations ranging from intimate chamber ensembles to full orchestral forces. Known for the "infectious delight" of our performances, we seek to be both musical and amicable in everything we do! Our programme Les Caractères de la Danse explores dance forms in instrumental music of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, from France, Italy, Germany and England, beginning with Rebel's eponymous lexicon of popular dances and culminating with Bach's glorious Suite in B minor for flute and strings."
