Programme Note
A programme of a cappella music with works by German and international composers from the last 200 years.
The Collegium Vocale chamber choir was established in 1994 by Stefan Ludwig in the Parish of St Wolfgang in Munich's Haidhausen district. The Choir's repertoire includes mainly sacred works, focussing on late Romantic, 20th century and contemporary a cappella choral works, with music from the Baltic region and British Isles being of particular importance to the Choir's musical director.
In Munich the Choir performs regularly in the churches of St Wolfgang and St John the Baptist. It also sings in many other churches in and around Munich. The Choir has a personal association with the composers Rihards Dubra, Ugis Praulins, Philip Stopford, Chris Tambling and John Floreen. Its regular accompanist is Professor Andreas Puhani from Munich's Academy of Music and Performing Arts.
