The Edinburgh Singers has been at the forefront of Scotland's musical heritage as one of its leading non-professional choirs. The choir strives for the highest standard of performance, tackling a varied and challenging repertoire. They are renowned for vibrant, moving and expressive performances from early Baroque to the present day. In addition to regular concerts, the choir has collaborated with Scottish Opera and the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, and has appeared on BBC TV’s Songs of Praise and Radio 4 Sunday Worship. Since the appointment of inspirational Musical Director Alistair Digges in February 2015, the choir has gone from strength to strength, undertaking a number of ambitious and exciting projects. These have included performing a whole concert of choral works by living Scottish composers; showcasing a selection of Scottish, American and French music on tour in Paris, with performances in Saint-Sulpice, La Madeleine and the American Cathedral; raising over £1,800 for CLIC Sargent with a “Come and Sing” Fauré's Requiem; and hosting a collaborative concert with the esteemed London Oriana Choir.
