Online lecture with Susan Bullock, CBE
Susan Bullock, CBE is “an artist of rare musical and dramatic intelligence” who has made a speciality of Wagner and Richard Strauss heroines. Disarmingly she admits to being “no good at drips or nice people” and regularly dies or is murdered on stage.
Appearances as Elektra to Klytämnestra (Strauss), Jenůfa to Kostelnička (Janacek) have brought her international acclaim and in this morning’s talk, Susan will discuss the insights she has gained through playing both mother and daughter in the same opera over a number of years, and how you see the role with different eyes as a result
