Programme Note

First performed on UN World Environment Day, join the Oxford Philharmonic online for a concert of pastoral favourites, including evocations of the British countryside from Vaughan Williams, Delius and Oxford composer George Butterworth, alongside Vivaldi’s perfect representations of ‘Spring’ and ‘Summer’ from the ever-popular Four Seasons. The UK premiere of Michael English’s The Moonflower celebrates the life of the conservationist and botanical artist Margaret Mee, and her many expeditions to the Amazon rainforest to track down this rare plant.

Reserve your free ticket to receive the link to watch the concert directly to your inbox shortly before the event begins.

This concert will be available to watch free online until 23 December 2021.
