Programme Note
An “Organ Spectacular”, performed by Iain Ledingham (organ), Imogen Whitehead (trumpet)and Aimee Fisk (soprano). The programme is full of popular and well known works. These include the famous Toccatas by Widor, Dubois and Boellmann, two movements from Haydn’s sparkling Trumpet Concerto, operatic Arias from Rigoletto, La Boheme, Handel’s magnificent “Let the bright seraphim” from Samson and Geoffrey Burgon’s Nunc Dimittis (famous as the theme music for Tinker, Tailor, Soldier Spy). The recording was made in the splendid acoustic of the Chapel at the Royal Masonic School for Girls.
