Programme

Ludwig van BeethovenSymphony no.3 in E flat major 'Eroica', Op.55

Performers

Lee Reynolds – Conductor

Southbank Sinfonia

Programme Note

With musicians scattered across the room, explore the vibrations and energy of Southbank Sinfonia in a unique, immersive #ConcertLab performance of Beethoven’s Symphony No.3 ‘Eroica’ where we invite the audience to roam between instruments and gain new sonic perspectives.

Beethoven’s own changing relationship with sound will be weaved through this performance as Olivier Award-winning actor David Threlfall (Channel Four Shameless, RSC Don Quixote) voices the composer’s turbulent thoughts, vividly recreated from his letters to show a man teetering on the precipice of either genius or self-destruction.

A fully-stocked bar will remain open until late for an after-party, featuring more live music.

This performance will also feature a British Sign Language Interpreter.
