Programme Note
The young Romanian pianist, a City Music Foundation Artist, brings us a delightful broad mix of works for his lunchtime recital.
Mihai Ritivoiu graduated (highest honours) from the National University of Music in Bucharest, going on to obtain Master’s and Artist Diploma degrees (Distinction) from Guildhall School of Music & Drama. He has won several major piano prizes. Of his Polonaise-Fantasie, a reviewer said: “He totally conveyed the dreaminess of this work, coupled with the excitement of the melodic and harmonic dance sections.”
