Programme Note
Evoking the art of chiaroscuro, Roberto David Rusconi’s luminous Variazioni Tiepolo sees its world premiere framed by Haydn and Beethoven string quartets.
Minguet is one of the most internationally sought-after string quartets today. During an evening dedicated to music and alchemy, the award-winning ensemble offer their own interpretation of two masterpieces of the chamber music repertoire: Haydn’s String Quartet, No.67, and Beethoven’s String Quartet, Op.131.
Commissioned by Olga D’Alesio, Variazioni Tiepolo by Roberto David Rusconi is the world premiere of this extraordinary evening.
With thematic variations tailored for the virtuosity of the Quartet’s violinists, Rusconi’s creation is a musical journey with a lightness of touch that responds to the reflections and shades of the Capricci and Scherzi sketches by Rococo artist Giovanni Battista Tiepolo.
