Programme Note
Lewisham Choral Society gives voice to the thrilling choruses and exquisite solos of a joyful 400-year-old work.
In its richly-textured choral sections, many parts create multi-layered conversations, making their own journeys and magically reuniting.
As one member of the choir puts it, you only have to hear the opening bars for the hairs on your neck to stand on end.
Lewisham Choral Society is one of London’s most popular and accomplished community choirs, performing regularly at Southbank Centre and across London.
Conductor Dan Ludford-Thomas is also Musical Director of several other choirs, including The National Children’s Choir of Great Britain.
