Programme Note

London City Orchestra culminates its 5th anniversary celebrations with a gala concert at the newly renovated Queen Elizabeth Hall. Music Director Pablo Urbina shares the stage with Vitaly Pisarenko, winner of the Franz Liszt Piano Competition, and guest conductor Philip Keller, in an evening that will showcase some uplifitng classics from the repertoire such us Strauss’ Der Rosenkavalier, Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1 and his Capriccio Italian.  The concert also sees a world premiere by composer Emma-Kate Matthews, exploring the structure of this iconic building.
