The celebrated Dutch fortepianist collaborates for the first time with conductor Ian Page and the Mozartists in an all-Mozart concert. It comprises the effortlessly lyrical Piano Concerto No.22, the majestic Symphony No.39 in E flat major and famous arias from The Marriage of Figaro and Don Giovanni, all of which are written in the key of E flat major. Brautigam has won international acclaim and multiple awards for his recordings of Haydn and Mozart’s complete works for keyboard and his ongoing Beethoven cycle on BIS Records. His playing combines technical virtuosity with intellectual integrity and a vibrant spirit of discovery. Page is the founder and artistic director of Classical Opera and The Mozartists, and has been hailed as one of the leading Mozart interpreters of his generation. The programme also includes the Countess’ first aria, ‘Porgi amor’, from The Marriage of Figaro and Donna Elvira’s ‘Mi tradì quell’alma ingrata’ from Don Giovanni, written as a showpiece when the opera was revived in Vienna in April 1788.
