Programme Note

We are delighted to invite you to London City Orchestra's Summer concert in Regent Hall.

In a bold and varied programme with Music director Pablo Urbina, we will perform Bartoks Romanian Folk Dances, Debussys Fêtes arranged by LCO clarinettist Benjamin Picard, and Debussys Première Rhapsodie for Clarinet and Orchestra with soloist Stephanie Bissell, winner of this years concerto competition.

We then unleash Shostakovichs fifth symphony - a bold, bitter work of musical protest, spanning the full range of human emotion.

Pablo Urbina, Music Director of London City Orchestra
