Programme Note
Popular British soprano Lesley Garret CBE and pianist Anna Tilbrook present an evening of song, reminiscences and chat, offering unique insight into Lesley's life on stage.
For more than 30 years, Yorkshire-born Lesley has enjoyed one of the most successful and idiosyncratic careers of any modern-day, classically trained soprano, winning critical acclaim and the affection of many through the breadth and diversity of her work. A graduate of the Royal Academy of Music and an alumna of the prestigious National Opera Studio, Lesley's career launched after she won the Decca Prize of the Kathleen Ferrier Award in 1979. She has 14 solo CDs to her credit, numerous awards and has enjoyed many television appearances over the years.
Hertfordshire-born Anna, one of Rosehill's featured artists, has a considerable reputation in song recitals and chamber music. Having studied at York University and the Royal Academy of Music with Julius Drake, she made her debut at London's Wigmore Hall in 1999 and has since become a regular performer at Europe's major concert halls and festivals.
Don't miss Lesley and Anna up close and personal for an exciting evening of music and song as well as behind-the-scenes stories and anecdotes.
