Programme Note
Acclaimed British pianists Paul Lewis and Steven Osborne will perform together on one piano, featuring music by Debussy, Fauré, Poulenc, Ravel and Stravinsky - an exceptional duo performing in an intimate setting!
Paul, who hails from Liverpool, is internationally regarded as one of the leading pianists of his generation. He studied under Joan Havill at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London before honing his craft with famed pianist Alfred Brendel, whom Paul acknowledges as a mentor and himself a previous performer at Rosehill.
Steven is one of Scotland's most treasured musicians whose insightful and idiomatic interpretations of diverse repertoire show an immense musical depth. His numerous awards include The Royal Philarmonic Society Instrumentalist of the Year (2013) and two Gramophone Awards.
This exciting concert by two exceptional performers is part of a prestigious tour that includes the Wigmore Hall, London and America. The 208-seat Rosehill Theatre is the ideal venue for seeing these two world-class performers up close and personal.
