Programme Note

Coming from the Cold starts on a freezing winter evening, where a lonely violin plays an icy tune. But gradually, the music gets warmer until the strings of Vasks’ Fruits of Silence envelop you like a comfy blanket, melting away the last drops of snow.

This concert is a musical exploration of the Danish concept of hygge and allows us to experience the warming and soothing power of music. It also invites us to celebrate the things that make us feel warm and cozy in our own lives. Is it a hot mug of tea, an evening by the fire, a chat with a friend?

Join us at the Round Chapel Hackney and experience a musical journey into the warmth of a Danish evening with lots of festive treats.

This concert is a co-promotion with Spitalfields Music.

There will also be a family-friendly performance with crafts activities for children at 6:30pm.
