Add to my Calendar 06-04-2018 19:30 06-04-2018 21:30 36 NYO Unleashed Between 6-8 April, NYO takes over Southbank Centre with its inspirational teenage orchestral brilliance in a weekend packed with live music and free events for teenagers. We’re dividing into TWO orchestras for the first time with one giving a programme inspired and led by teenagers featuring music from Star Wars, The Hunger Games, and Bernstein’s Symphonic Dances from West Side Story (8 April) with young actors from the National Youth Theatre. The other takes on Bernstein’s epic MASS which comprises a huge orchestra with musicians from NYO and Chineke! Junior Orchestra, massed choirs, rock band, marching band, singers, dancers and actors under maestra Marin Alsop. (6 and 7 April) Tickets are just £5 for under 25s on 8 April (excl. booking fee), and FREE events include our Teen Hangout which provides a space for teenagers to relax with friends and hear more about the music; Come and Play where teenage musicians can discover Mambo from West Side Story alongside NYO musicians, and an After Party where you can hear music by our teenage composers.
