Award winning composer Marisa López joins acclaimed composer Matthew Sear for an evening of new music for guitar, piano and more!

Marisa Muñoz-López
Marisa Muñoz-López is an award-winning pianist and composer and a creative producer. She has performed in renowned venues including The Southbank Centre (UK) and Auditorio Principe de Asturias (Spain). Marisa has also commissioned over thirty works and premiered pieces by international composers. Last year, she was invited to perform in various festivals including the Festival Latinoamericano de Música.
As a composer, she has been commissioned by numerous musicians including Elena Riu. Marisa’s works have been performed in venues such as Blackheath Halls, where her orchestral piece ‘The Lesser of Two Evils’ was conducted by Gregory Rose. Max Reinhardt, BBC Radio 3 presenter, stated that he was ‘swept away’ by this piece and that he identified ‘elements of both Stravinsky and Morricone’ in it, and awarded her First Prize at the Daryl Runswick Competition 2018.
Marisa has received masterclasses from outstanding musicians including pianists Joaquín Achúcarro and Pascal Rogé and composers like Christopher Young. Marisa completed a double major in Composition and Performance with First Class Honors at Trinity Laban Conservatoire and was awarded the TCL Silver Medal for Piano 2020. She is currently pursuing a Masters in Music at the Royal Academy of Music with Professor Diana Ketler
Matthew Sear (b. 1975)
Matthew Sear is a London born musician noted for compositions and performances that draw from a variety of styles.
A recent recipient of a Fellowship, from the Royal Society of Arts, Matthew recently joined the BBC’s Anna Cookson on her show The Wake Up Call, to discuss his latest album ‘Creations in Lockdown’

Matthew gave his debut at St Paul's Church, Covent Garden (2006), and has since performed as a guitarist/composer at venues that have included; St John Smith’s Square, St James’ Piccadilly, Hertford College (University of Oxford) and St Martin In The Field's 'Series For Young Composers’.
In addition to giving performances of his own compositions, Matthew’s music has been performed and broadcast at home and abroad receiving premier performances at: the Royal Academy of Music, the 1901 Arts Club, St Martin in the Field, Maria Marchant’s ‘7 Notes in 7 Days’, and the Edinburgh, Toronto and Adelaide fringe festivals. He has additionally featured in magazines that have included; Classical Guitar, Fanfare (USA), The Jewish Chronicle, Guitar Tutor, Gibson Lifestyle and We Are Cult.
With over eighty works written and seven albums recorded to date, Matthew is currently working with the award winning artist Mina Kupfermann on an music and animation collaboration ‘Seven Days’, the duo’s interpretation of the creation story.
