Programme Note
Brian Low Rhung Wei is currently in his final year at the Royal Northern College of Music.
He was awarded the Fund Prize in 2017, and the Patricia Cunliffe, and Marjorie Clementi Memorial Awards for Keyboard Studies in 2018 for achieving the highest mark in his end-of-year recitals in both Year 1 and 2. Brian was also awarded Runner-Up in the Pendle Young Musicians' Bursary 2018 and 'Best Beethoven Performance' and 3rd prize at the II Future Stars International Competition 2018. During his first year at RNCM, Brian was a Finalist in the college Chopin Prize competition in 2017.
He first performed the Mendelssohn Piano Concerto in Wells Cathedral in 2016 whilst studying at the Cathedral School, before moving to Manchester.
