Programme Note

Alex Wilson (piano) performs music of the early 20th Century in the beautiful surroundings of Southwark Cathedral, including rarely heard music by Frederick Septimus Kelly, a talented composer who died at The Somme in 1916. Come along to experience works that haven’t been heard in over 100 years in a concert of sublime lyricism and harmonic beauty, also featuring works by Elgar and Parry. This concert marks the launch of a crowdfunding campaign in advance of a Toccata Classics CD release of previously unrecorded piano works by F.S. Kelly later in the year.
