Programme Note

Debussy’s three Nocturnes were inspired by a series of impressionist paintings by James Abbott McNeill Whistler.

Chants d’Auvergne is an enchanting collection of folk songs from France, in the local Auvergnat language.

The Orchestra’s Vice-President Andrew Parnell joins us on the Cathedral’s organ to play Saint-Saëns’s mighty Symphony No.3.
