Programme Note
This is Amici's first concert at the Parish Church of St Alban in North Harrow. It is the only church designed by architect Arthur Kenyon, who is better known as for his pioneering work as architect and town planner at Welwyn Garden City. His early use of reinforced concrete created a vast and impressively simple barrel vaulted church, which has been rightly described as a 'Jewel for Metroland'.
For the second time, we are performing a trio of pieces using the same text. This time, that text is O nata lux, which is the office hymn used during Lauds for the Feast of the Transfiguration.
