Programme Note
Thomas Allery is a keyboard player and director based in London. He enjoys a varied career spanning harpsichord, organ, continuo, research, and teaching. Having originally studied at Oxford University and at the Royal College of Music, in 2019 Thomas received a scholarship to complete his studies as a harpsichordist at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, studying with Carole Cerasi and James Johnstone. He now specialises in performing lesser known baroque works, and championing the works of forgotten composers. Thomas holds the position of Director of Music at St Mary-le-Bow Church, Cheapside, the famous Wren church in the heart of the City of London. He is currently undertaking research into historical continuo treatises and teaching manuals from the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries.
