City Bach Collective
Programme Note
Programme also includes some short instrumental pieces.
The City Bach Collective perform Bach Cantatas and other music regularly as part of a Lutheran Bach Vespers service at St Mary-at-Hill Church near the Monument in the City of London. The performances use period instruments. Details of their performances are on http://citybachcollective.org.uk/ These performances were started originally by Peter Lea-Cox in 1976 combining his work as organist with performance opportunities for his students at the Royal Academy. The City Bach Collective is a fully professional group of musicians who are continuing this tradition.
The programme features three cantatas and some of the best pieces of music played at the Vespers.
Children who can sit quietly are most welcome. All under 26s may attend FREE thanks to CAVATINA if they enter their name and date of birth on a form at the door – no advance notice needed.
Parents and teachers may attend FREE if they bring children who need to be accompanied (typically up to 16 years) but they should email chairman@tilbach.org.uk at least 2 days before the concert to register.
