Pinsuti Chamber Choir with Tempo Feliz present a summer concert: “Fiesta Musica”

Add to my Calendar 16-07-2022 19:30 16-07-2022 21:30 36 Pinsuti Chamber Choir with Tempo Feliz present a summer concert: “Fiesta Musica” This evening of music from Central and South America promises to be energetic, enjoyable and fun! The first half has Pinsuti singing three contrasting works. The six “Indianas” (1967) by Carlos Guastavino, are settings of poems about nature, love and life, to music infused with Argentinian folk traditions, with piano accompaniment. A change of tempo, century and style returns to Pinsuti’s familiar roots of unaccompanied early music with “Ave Regina” for double choir, written in around 1640 by the Spanish-born Mexican composer, Juan Gutiérrez de Padilla. The major work of the evening is the “Misa Criolla” (1963) by Ariel Ramirez. This popular setting of the Spanish Mass, with music inspired by South American folk music and dances, is a fabulous, often fast moving piece with lively solo passages, call and response sections and percussion. For the second half, the high-energy Brazilian fusion band, Tempo Feliz, will have us all up dancing to their unique interpretations of classic Brazilian standards and their own original items.  This should appeal to a wide range of ages, so some discounted tickets are available for under 30s and under 18s.  Bring your friends!
