Programme Note
Pinsuti Chamber Choir celebrates Christmas with an incredible selection of Christmas music, both old and (very) new, including our favourite jazz and gospel influenced carols from America, and some brand new arrangements of carols from the newly published “Carols for Choirs 6”. This year sees the 100th anniversary of The Oxford University Press music department, and they have commissioned new works and arrangements from young composers: we will be singing some of the best, including “Coventry Carol”, “In Dulci Jubilo” and “The Rose”.
We also include some Scandinavian delights, with Gjeilo’s “Wintertide”, and "Vuelie" by Frode Fjellheim (possibly better known as the theme tune to the “Frozen” films).
We are delighted that Anthony Gray will be accompanying us, and there is very likely to be some trumpet playing from our choral director Robert Webb before the evening is out.
Please note that the concert starts at 4pm, hopefully fitting in nicely with your Christmas shopping, and, after an interval, should be finished by about 6pm.
We hope you will be able to join us for a joyous Christmas celebration!
