Programme Note

An electrifying evening awaits on Saturday, 10 May, as the Ealing Symphony Orchestra presents the world premiere of Machina humana, an Electric Violin Concerto by Angela Luq, commissioned especially by the Orchestra.  Virtuoso Roberts Balanas takes centre stage, bringing this dynamic new work to life with his signature energy and flair.

The concert continues with a vibrant programme that celebrates orchestral colour and rhythmic vitality.  We delve into the dazzling orchestration of Bliss’s Colour Symphony, the irresistible dance rhythms of Bernstein’s Symphonic Dances from West Side Story, and the elegance of Samuel Coleridge-Taylor’s Valse de la reine.

This exciting event is made possible with the generous support of Cockayne Grants for the Arts, a Donor Advised Fund, held at The Prism Charitable Trust, along with contributions from donors via the dedicated GoFundMe page.  We are deeply grateful for this invaluable support in bringing new music to the stage.
