Programme Note

It was 300 years ago that Bach and his family moved to Leipzig so that the composer could take up the post of Cantor at the city's four main churches, including the Thomaskirche and Nikolaikirche. He hit the ground running with the first of five cantata cycles delivered in his first year, with the cantata BWV 75 the first he performed in his new post on30 May 1723.   At this concert, the first for us post-covid, we shall also announce the return of our Bach Singers Prize, the 18-30 Bach Club and associated events to complement our professional recitals and concerts.   Come and joi us.....
