Programme Note

Wordsworth's celebrated poem provides the inspiration for this programme of works by English composers from the 16th to the 21st centuries. Having recently returned from our Galician tour where we performed Joby Talbot's 'Santiago', we are delighted to bring this wonderful piece to our London audience. We are also looking forward to returning to the Howells Requiem, which must be one of the most beautiful and searingly moving works in the entire English sacred musical canon. Works by Tallis, Byrd, Vaughan Williams, Finzi, Harris and Berkeley complete the programme, and we will be joined once again by organist Paul Ayres
