Programme Note

In this concert we will present a familiar Classical work, the Mozart Requiem, in a new light. We will be performing the Duncan Druce completion of this famous Requiem (which has a strikingly different continuation of the Lacrimosa and an exquisite Benedictus) alongside the model for Mozart's Requiem in the setting by Michael Haydn. As well as being a deeply rewarding work in its own right, Michael Haydn's Requiem will give our audience a fascinating insight into how Mozart was able to develop another composer's ideas in his own inimitable voice.

The concert will also include a first performance of "Let All Mortal Flesh" by Tyler Zwink.
